O Come, O Come Emmanuel

Advent begins. The church year begins not with New Years day, but with the start of the joyful and quieting season.

Advertisers suggest we purchase to prepare for Christmas. Advent suggests we spend our best time doing just the opposite.  Advent is a season for preparation, for reflection, for holy waiting on God.

But how?

How do we take what can be such a hectic time and give it back to God? What helps us to prepare for God to come among us? What practices this Advent will help us to recognize and honor the sacred in our midst?

Please be with us tomorrow as we explore this together. We’ll discover the wonders of the season again at both the 10am and the 7pm service.

Advent Blessings to You,

Giulianna+

What a Joy!

New MinistryLast night, the community at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit really came together for our Celebration of New Ministry. Our dear Bishop was with us, in addition to so many friends– new and old.

Thanks to all of you who participated in getting our space ready, participating in the liturgy, and in our wonderful reception!

The evening was a joy…. and just the beginning of the joy we’ll find together in the years to come.

Below are some pictures taken during the evening:

We’re going to soon liturgically celebrate what has happened in the life of our community at Chapel of the Holy Spirit this year . The Bishop will be with us on Sunday, November 8th at 7pm to celebrate that a new chapter of ministry has begun, whereby the Rev. Giulianna Gray is now full-time chaplain.

All are welcome to attend this special service of Holy Eucharist! Also, there are lots of ways to help out with this service, so send us an email if you’d like to bring a dish for the reception, participate in the liturgy, etc.
